Got very lucky on the holiday weekend and snagged one of the last available non-powered sites, and we didn't even care. GORGEOUS sunset, ten steps from Lake Superior, a lovely town and experience. Park is quite crowded and sites are tightly packed together, but we made friends with our neighbours and had a lovely evening. A really nice alternative when Pictured Rocks campsites are full.

This was a great campground. It was right on Lake Superior and just a short walk from downtown Grand Marais. The bathrooms were nice and so we're the showers. You do have to pay 50 cents for showers but that's because people that don't camp there use the showers too. Very nice lots as well!

Great view of Lake Superior and just a really short walk to the huge beach. It's also a short walk to downtown. There are rustic and electric sites, showers and restrooms and a covered area with grilles and picnic tables. They don't take reservations, but we've been there two summers now and have always been able to get spots. It's a really great place in a great location!

Lovely place. Had everything we needed. Very reasonable price for camping, tho first come policy makes planning a challenge. Bathrooms clean and adequate, though pretty basic. Fifty cent charge for showers! Laundry facility available though pricey ($2 per wash load and $2 per dryer load.) Very knowledgeable and friendly camp hosts. Lovely little walk to town's two grocery stores and hardware store. Charming town. Lake front camp sites very... Some have lovely view, others have view impeded by Shrubs and trees. Check distances to outlets when selecting your site: We had to change sites after almost fully setting up because electric hook up was on other side of site from water hook up and our lines weren't long enough. Wonderful jogging by the bay!

We were happy to find this campground on our trip to the Pictured Rocks area. The view of Lake Superior was beautiful with a nice beach. It had everything we needed with water and electric at our site plus a picnic table and fire ring. It was annoying to have to pay for a shower though. I wish we had known we would need quarters ahead of time as we figured it out after the office was closed so we had to wait. They don't take reservations so I'm not sure if we'll stay here again. If I were planning s vacation at a popular time I'd be afraid they might be full so I'd probably reserve something ahead elsewhere just in case. The town of Grand Marais was charming though we didn't explore it much.
